Decades Tournament - 2010s England v 2010s India

India ended England's slim chance of progressing from the 2010s section  with a 2 wicket victory in a memorable Lord's Test. They almost threw it away on a breathless final afternoon when 7 wkts tumbled for 94. But India's fast bowlers, Kumar and Umesh, came in  and scored valuable runs with the latter smashing Anderson back over his head for the winning boundary.

Arguably India's most influential player was Ravi Ashwin, who took 8-111 with his off breaks and was there at the end with a calm unbeaten 24.  India's other stand out performer was their captain, Kohli, who stroked a sublime 108 on day 2, facilitating India's important 1st innings lead of 60. Pujara also had a profitable Test with scores of 54 and 67.

England did well to push patently more talented opponents to the brink, with Trott (49 and 130) showing pleasing form and character. But class told in the end and India 2010s march on under their talisman Kohli.
