PGA TOUR GOLF 2022 - EVENT ONE - FORTINET (potg) - 2ND ROUND

The 2nd round provided more great action and drama. Harold Varner III followed up on his 66 yesterday with a scintillating 67 today, moving to 11 under par and took the lead of the tournament. Cameron Young and Jim Knous shot the rounds of the day though. They both hit 7 under par 65's, moving Young into 2nd place on 10 under par and Knous, just 2 shots further back. He shares 5th place with Hideki Matsuyama who could only go round in 71 today, but he is still well placed for the weekend.

Tony Merritt and Dylan Wu had terrible days today, finishing with 8 over par 80's. Merritt was well placed yesterday but tumbled down the leaderboard and will miss the weekend. Tour officials agreed that (-3) would be the cut line, meaning that 64 golfers would progress for the weekends 3rd and 4th rounds.

Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker were just 2 of the big names to miss the cut.

A large crowd gathered by the end of the day and are expected throughout the weekend.
