Decades Tournament - 2010s India v 2010s Rest of the World

India got off to the perfect start with a convincing win over the Rest of the World in this Group J Encounter at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli may have worried about deciding to bat as they quickly lost Shikhar Dhawan in the first over to Trent Boult.  He neednt have worried however.  Kohli came in at 3 and batted beautifully, hitting 166 in just under 5 hours.  India made 381 in their first innings but lost their last 5 wickets for 36 as Kemar Roach and Jason Holder both took 4 wickets.

The Rest of the World didnt fare so well and were dismissed for 255.  Pakistan star Azhar Ali top scored with 98 and Kane Williamson made 95, but they lost regular wickets with Mohammed Shami taking a brilliant 5 for 22.

India had a big lead of 126 and they looked to extend that beyond 400.  Tim Southee bowled brilliantly on the 4th morning however as India lost their last 5 wickets for 5 runs.  Southee took 4 of them to finish with 5 for 42.

The Rest of the World had a huge target of 386 to win the game.  Their batting frailty was exposed once again however as they collapsed to 128 all out.  Ravichandran Ashwin bowled well, turning the ball to take 5 for 44.  Tamim Iqball top scored with 33.

India cruised to a 257 run win.  Virat Kohli earned man of the match for his 2 innings and India already look like one of the favourites in this group.  They head to Port Elizabeth next to meet South Africa.  The Rest of the World have a bye next round, then head to Bangladesh for their game against the Springboks.
