Decades Tournament - 2010s India v 2010s Australia

India have one foot in the door to the next round after a convincing 5 wicket win against Australia in Indore.

Indian skipper Kohli won the toss and batted first. They certainly had the better of conditions as Kohli made a brilliant 103 but was ably supported by Jadeja (66) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (64*).  Mitchell Johnston stuck at his task and finished with 4 for 84.

Australia then slumped to 160 all out after being 95 for 2.  Left arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav was brilliant taking 8 for 37 as he bamboozled the Australian order.

Kohli enforced the follow on hoping for a quick win, but Australia batted much better in their 2nd innings.  Shaun Marsh hit 90 and Michael Clarke 70 as the Aussies took cautiously built a lead of their own.  They were finally dismissed for 391 and lost their last 5 wickets for 12 runs as Kuldeep Yadav took 4-91 and Ravichandran Ashwin took 3-88.

India needed just over 180 to win and Kohli must have been nervous as they fell to 41-2.  Kohli held the innings together however, hitting 65 and along with 35 from Rahane, India got over the line for the loss of just 5 wickets.

A good win for India who now top the group.  They are off to Lords next to face an England team who must win.
