Decades Tournament - 2010s India v 1990s England

Ravichandran Ashwin took 10 wickets in the match and blew away the 1990s England team as India moved on to the next round of the Decades tournament.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and batted first.  India made decent use of the fast paced wicket, but were all out late on the first day for 311.  Kohli top scored with 62 while 49 from Pujara and Jadeja provided able support.

England fared better as Indias bowlers toiled in the Kolkata sun.  Robin Smith top scored with a brilliant 138 as England made 387, earning a lead of 76.

England took quick wickets reducing India to 59-3.  Ajinkya Rahane managed to move India into a reasonable position however as he made 113, dragging his team to 270.  Andy Caddick took 5-51 and England must have been confident of chasing down their target of 195.

That confidence was quickly shattered however as Ashwin found lots of turn on day 4.  He had 3 wickets for 0 runs at one point as England slumped to 27-3.  Mike Atherton hit 41 and Graeme Hick 30, but England were unable to combat Ashwin.  He finished with 7 for 54 (taking 10 wickets in the match) and England crumbled to 146 all out.  Ashwin earned man of the match as India cruised to a 48 run win.
